There is a growing need for small groups of people to work together in tackling key health and development issues. What is not so clear is how members of working groups, task networks or constituency representatives can improve the way they work together through efficient communication, coordination and consultation.

If this sounds like a familiar challenge, the People Connector (PCO) might be part of your solution. It has been specifically designed to provide a simple set of user-friendly tools to support the efficient exchange of information in small groups. The PCO connects people from all corners of the globe through:

 

   easy-to-use listservs and mailing lists;

     file-sharing and document library tools;

     shared group event, announcement and deadline calendars.

 

It is particularly suited to working groups of 10 to 200 people, including representative delegations of decision-making structures. The efficiency and transparency of the PCO also helps meet the requirements for upwards and downwards accountability of such groups.

Why PCO? Listening to users showed us that working groups need something simple that makes working together easier – rather than being driven by latest technologies. The system sticks to three basic principles: simplicity, e-mail and ownership.
